ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY

Astro-English: from Astronese, the adjective tellurian comes from the Latin words tellus and tellur for “earth” while the addition of the suffix -ian is used to denote “a person” or “something in relation to another”, hence meaning altogether “in relation to Earth and its inhabitants.”
