ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY
Astro-English: from Astronese, the prefix xeno- is used to denote that which is “foreign” or “alien” in order to refer to extraterrestrial life as distinguished from life originating from Earth; meanwhile, the suffix -centrism is used to denote “a type of belief that elevates the subject to a central position”, especially “a belief which places emphasis upon the role of extraterrestrial life, especially in the context of one’s worldview.”
